Are humans responsible for the way they treat animals? Anybody with a conscience would consider animal mistreatment and abuse both morally and ethically wrong. Tragically, animals in CAFOs spend their entire lives in extremely cramped, unnatural, inhumane conditions. Cows, pigs, chickens and other livestock must endure life in cages, trapped in their own excrement with no access to pasture, fresh air, or natural light. In the profit-driven world of industrialized agriculture, animals are no longer viewed as living, feeling beings. They spend their lives trapped in cages, forced to stand in their own urine and feces. Fattened with cheap corn and soya meal and routinely injected with drugs, CAFO livestock suffer unimaginable atrocities.
